Initial pics, x-rays etc

Ok so I got my copies of the initial workup.

Here are the pics they took. YIKES I am not a fan! As you can see I have a pretty severe open bit. Also my mid line is WAY off to the left. My ortho said most of the time the mid line goes off to the right so mine is weird. And my palate is pretty narrow so he mentioned the possibility of SARP surgery. I'm hoping I don't have to do SARP surgery. One surgery is enough!

And here is my lateral x-ray. You can see my piercing in here lol. As you can see I have a pretty narrow airway. Even my Ortho says its narrow. Makes sense why I snore so bad now.

So now we wait to get the braces on.

1st meeting with my Orthodontist

Ok so I had my first appointment with my orthodontist. He really is a very wonderful man and the staff in his office are amazing. We went over my pictures, x-rays, etc and just as I have been told in the past I have an Anterior Open Bite. I will require surgery to correct this.

I have an appointment for Sept. 24th to get my braces on! So this will mark the official beginning to my long awaited journey! I'm super pumped to get things rolling! He will be sending me my pictures and whatnot so when I get them I will post them here for your viewing "pleasure??" LOL! I'm telling you... its a mess!

Anyhoo I will post again when I receive my email.

Moulds Etc

So I had my appointment on Friday and got all the pictures, xrays and moulds done. It was super quick and the lady at the orthodontist office was super nice. Now its a waiting game. I don't have my consultation until August 7th! This waiting is going to drive me crazy lol. I know this is going to take time but I really just want to get started. At least get my referral to the Surgeon. Oh well, patience is a virtue I guess.

Almost Started

Ok so here it goes.

I am new to this blogging thing so please be patient with me lol.
I am a married, 34 year mother of 2. I am finally starting my long awaited journey to fix my bite. I have an anterior open bite as well as a recessed lower jaw. My mid line is also way off to the left. I go for my first Orthodontist appointment this Friday and I am SUPER looking forward to it.

I have been reading tons of blogs on Orthognathic surgery and am hoping my blog helps others as much as the ones I have read are helping me.

I will post more after my first appointment!
